Numerous aspects of photography, including black and white and color image-making. This course will utilize both the traditional chemical darkroom as well as current digital technologies. Objectives include using photography to express one's opinions and ideas, gaining a basic technical understanding of photography and its vocabulary, and embracing the fundamental elements of visual art that help make a photograph engaging. An appreciation of historic and contemporary photography will be achieved through problem-solving assignments as well as lectures and critiques.
