SYLLABUS

This course provides a theoretical and empirical understanding and explanation of terrorism. It identifies various analytical approaches to the study of terrorism: identifying terrorist groups, reviewing terrorist tactics, and examining police and governmental responses to reduce or control the threats of terrorism. The course exposes students to current counter – terrorism measures and encourages critical thought on improving the strategies of containing terrorism. The course draws on cutting-edge research in the counterterrorism literature, strategic policy documents, and case studies of prominent attempts to combat various terrorism campaigns.
